About us – The Jochemich family and Wasserburg Anstel
The Jochemich family – fourth generation
In 1911 Theodor Jochemich acquired the farm and lands of Wasserburg Anstel. Our family has run the estate ever since, today in its fourth generation. The former agricultural manor has become a lively riding and farm estate with holiday apartments.
The castle
A “Sigefridus de Anstele” is first mentioned in records as early as 1155. Wasserburg Anstel is the oldest secular listed building in the municipality of Rommerskirchen; its core is a medieval stone residential tower, and in 1722 the complex was converted into a baroque manor house.
What to expect
Personal hosts instead of a reception desk, quiet village life instead of hotel corridors – and still only around 20 minutes to Messe Düsseldorf and Koelnmesse. Wilfried and Ursula Jochemich live on site and look after their guests themselves.
We look forward to welcoming you to Wasserburg Anstel.
